I really like the perspective in this shot, I've seen this square planting pattern loads of times and never given it too much thought but it gives a great depth for this shot as the tree line appears to go on forever. The clouds are so gentle they just accentuate the sky with a few welcome highlights to break up the blue. Also the colour in this shot is so vivid carrying a warmth through the shot that is very welcoming. I have to ask though are those trees really on such an angle or is that just the wide angle nature of the lens? if so maybe a little perspective manipulation in your editing program of choice could be a good idea, not that it's in any sense a bad shot. I really like this picture and think it's a clever use of the subject.
Ratings Vision 5 - very good composition, with a brilliant balance of landscape and sky
Originality 4 - Hard for me to decide as I haven't really seen this done before but have seen similar compositions with pebbles ect.
Technique 3.5 - I would have scored this higher but I feel just a little editing to correct the wide angle distortion would have helped this along. If that is just how the trees are I apologise profusely and if you contact me I will correct this.
Impact 5 - Quite a striking use of perspective and a clever alternative to the two thirds land one third sky format so often seen (and employed by me on numerous occasions i must add ) make this a very nice shot to look at.
